NHL Releases 2020-2021 Schedule; Penguins Begin on the Road

PITTSBURGH (GSM) — The National Hockey League was forced to reduce its regular season game count from the normal 82 to 56 games due to COVID-19. On Tuesday, the NHL released the schedule for all 32 teams.
 
Locally, the Pittsburgh Penguins have released their scheduled matchups and begin play on Jan. 13 at the Wells Fargo Center against the Philadelphia Flyers. The home opener against the Washington Capitals will take place on Jan. 17 at PPG Paints Arena.
