Clyde Allen Harris Jr., the owner of Clyde Allen Harris Photography is a native of Akron, Ohio and has called Pittsburgh his home since 1986. After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, Clyde began taking photos for educational purposes in the operating room during solid organ transplant procedures. He developed a passion for photography and began shooting professionally in 1995, focusing on wedding photography.

Since then, Clyde has transitioned into commercial, portrait, event, and sports photography. Commercial clients include Macallan, Veuve Clicquot , Bentley, Jaguar, Perlora Leather, Liberty Tire, Sarris Chocolates, Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, Hill House Association, Pittsburgh Social Exchange, Blu Jazz+, and the University of Pittsburgh.

Portrait clients include the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Alpha Phi Alpha, and numerous executives and small business owners throughout Pittsburgh.

Clyde has shot many events for many of the above clients and is currently a credentialed photojournalist for The University of Pittsburgh football. His love for jazz has propelled his work shooting many jazz artists and he is currently the official photographer for the Barbados Jazz Excursion and Blu Jazz+.

Images have been published in a book entitled, Voices from Hill and a video documentary DVD of the Omicron Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha 100th year Anniversary.

Portraits have been published in The New York Times, The Pittsburgh Post Gazette, Pitt News, Pitt Chronicle, Penn Hills Community Magazine, and The Pittsburgh Courier. Web and print advertisements for the University of Pittsburgh Community Outreach initiative for the Hill District and Homewood Communities have also been published as well as event photography in The Boston Globe.

Clyde, a self-taught photographer, is a member of Nikon Professional Services, National Association of Black Journalists, The Pittsburgh Black Media Federation, and Jazz Journalists of America.
